The Roof Coatings Manufacturers Association (RCMA) is the national trade association representing the manufacturers of asphaltic and solar reflective roof coatings and the suppliers to the roof coatings industry. RCMA has more than 70 members who manufacture in or ship products to almost every state in the country, and is headquartered in Washington, DC. Established in 1982, RCMA is a leading industry voice, promoting the benefits of roof coatings and providing its membership with up-to-date information on building codes and standards, technical developments, and other industry topics of interest. The high level of participation and dedication from the membership is a testament to RCMA’s commitment to representing the industry, and to promoting the wide range of benefits roof coatings offer.

RCMA consists of more than 70 members who manufacture in almost every state in the country as well as suppliers to the industry

Membership Types

Regular Member

Any firm, partnership, or corporation engaged in manufacturing or selling private-labeled bituminous or non-bituminous based products shall be eligible for Regular Membership in the RCMA:

[a] cold-process protective roof coatings,

[b] cold-process pavement maintenance coatings, patching and repair compounds, or

[c] cold-process industrial coatings.

Associate Member

Any firm, partnership or corporation engaged in the business of supplying products, equipment, machinery or services to Regular Members for use in their businesses.

Standing Committees

There are four standing committees of the association:

  • Government Affairs Committee
  • Communications, Education, and Membership Committee
  • Technical Affairs Committee
  • Reflective Roof Coatings Institute

Additionally, task forces and working groups are added on an as-needed basis. Such groups include:

  • VOC Task Force
  • GHS / HazCom Task Force
  • Codes & Standards Task Force
  • Sustainability Task Force
  • Communications Task Force
  • Membership and Program Task Force

The RCMA convenes several times each year, providing our members essential industry updates, unbeatable networking opportunities, and a forum for sharing ideas and opinions that help shape the goals of the association and the future of the industry.
