Heidi Ellsworth, Partner, RoofersCoffeeShop.com

Heidi J. Ellsworth has worked in the roofing industry since 1993 and has held positions with Malarkey Roofing, Carlisle Construction Materials and EagleView Technologies.  She is currently a partner with RoofersCoffeeShop® and owner of HJE Consulting.

Working with both RoofersCoffeeShop and HJE Consulting, she focuses on supporting overall marketing strategies, sales success and content development for companies and associations within the roofing industry.  With a passion for networking and win-win-win scenarios, she continues to provide consulting and progressive digital advertising opportunities for companies and associations building strong collaborations for business profitability and success.

Ellsworth consistently writes for RoofersCoffeeShop and is a contributor to Professional Roofing, Florida Roofing Magazine, Carolinas Contact and Western Roofing, Siding & Insulation Magazine.  She currently consults with the Roofing Alliance while serving on the board of Western States Roofing Contractors Association and Roofing Contractors Association of Washington.  She is a founder and still very active with both Roofing Technology Think Tank (RT3) and National Women in Roofing (NWIR).

Ray C

Ray Coykendall, Vice President/Project Manager/Estimator, J.D. Miles & Sons, Inc.

Ray began his roofing career with J.D. Miles in 1985 as a sheet metal apprentice right out of high school. Ray moved up the ranks and within three years was a sheet metal foreman supervising sheet metal crews. Ray later furthered his education by completing the sheet metal apprentice school at Norfolk Vocational Technical Center in 1992 and graduating from the Roofing Industry Education Institute (RIEI) & CAD Institute in 1994. In 1999 Ray moved from the field into the office and became an estimator and project manager then later became vice president. Ray managed the commercial roofing division and service department. He estimated and managed projects ranging from $2,000 to over $3,000,000 in value. Ray is now in another transition phase of his career where he plans to continue with project estimating, overseeing the service department and take a new role in new client development. Ray is also a NRCA Pro Certification Qualified Assessor.

Alan B

Alan Browning, Director of Waterproofing, Chinook Roofing

As Director of Waterproofing Operations at Chinook Building Envelope Service, Alan works with clients, consultants, and architects to design waterproofing and coating scopes for various applications including unusual and challenging site conditions.

During his 30-plus years in the building envelope industry he has worked on design, estimating & budget analysis, project management, and gained real-world, hands-on experience which has provided him with a well-rounded view of these scopes and projects.  As a result of Alan’s expertise, he is honored to be a sought-after resource for many teams in the Pacific Northwest.

He has worked on everything from hydrostatic below-grade waterproofing conditions, large-scale curtain wall glazing assemblies, air barrier applications, and roofing and coating systems for various new construction and remediation projects.

Alan enjoys spending time with his family and friends playing music, kayaking, and exploring all the beauty the Pacific Northwest has to offer. In between the raindrops, of course!

Shawn M

Shawn Morgan, Vice President, KPost Roofing & Waterproofing

Shawn Morgan is a Vice President for KPost Roofing & Waterproofing.  Shawn began his career in the construction industry in 1997 as a Superintendent but quickly worked his way up to GM managing multiple projects and crews.  In 2004 Shawn moved to the manufacturers side of the business representing multiple lines of roofing, roof coatings and waterproofing materials.  In 2011 Shawn joined the team at KPost to lead the waterproofing and coatings division. Under his leadership, the waterproofing division grew by more than 300%. In his current role, Shawn and his team have maintained consistent revenue growth year over year.

Shawn currently serves on the Business Development Committee for Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) whose focus is on attracting and retaining skilled labor in the construction industry.  He is a graduate of the Future Executives Institute (FEI) a 3-year program sponsored by the National Roofing Contractors Association (NRCA) in partnership with the Kellogg School of Business at Northwestern University and currently serves on the FEI Committee for NRCA. He is also a contributing member of SWRI (Sealants, Waterproofing Restoration Institute) and ICRI (International Concrete Repair Institute).

Lisa I

Lisa Irby, Service Department Manager & Vice President, Thomas Roofing

Lisa Irby started at Thomas April 11, 1991 as a data entry clerk and was promoted to Service Department Manager in 2002.  She started with one service truck and a salesman.  Currently they have three salesmen, one coordinator, a superintendent and 11 service trucks.   Her department handles repairs to all roof types and sheet metal related repairs.  They also handle coatings.  They are close to a 4 million a year service department with a little over 1.5 in coatings.   She was promoted to Vice President January 2019.

Chuck Hester, General Contractor & Owner, TruLine Roofing

Chuck Hester is General Contractor and Owner of Truline Roofing.  Chuck moved to Charlotte in 1985 as a salesman for a new home building company.  He moved from sales to the construction side of the business as an assistant superintendent and rose rapidly through the ranks to become a superintendent on a multifamily project.  He earned his General Contracting license in 1993 and started building custom homes.  When the building market crashed in 2007, Chuck started Truline Roofing Company. 

 

He started out doing mainly shingles and residential style roofing but partnered with another roofing company in 2010 who did mostly roof coatings. Chuck took over 100% of the business in 2019. Truline has installed a number of large coating projects from jobs at Cherry Point AFB, Fort Bragg, Seymour Johnson AFB, Churches & School projects as well as a number of industrial roof projects. Chuck is a firm believer in roof coatings and sustainable roof systems. Truline’s motto is, “In roofing, WHITE is the new GREEN”.  

 

Chuck enjoys spending time with his family in nature, on the coast and in the mountains and other travels when there is time.
